This concentration is intended for students who wish to advance to supervisory or administrative roles within criminal justice settings. Students will gain management skills as well as a deeper understanding of the operational environments of criminal justice organizations. Additional areas of focus include psychology and organizational behavior, human resource management and how team behavior contributes to productivity.
This concentration is ideal for federal and local law enforcement professionals who wish to pursue management and director-level positions as well as for those seeking leadership within corrections or emergency management settings.
Criminal justice management professionals are responsible for directing and leading many different aspects of their organizations. Although exact responsibilities vary depending on the organization, these professionals may play a role in recruiting, training, establishing operational policies, managing cost, and ensuring compliance with relevant local, state and federal laws.
